Kingdom Coffee Roasters
Website and Branding design
What was the goal that Kingdom Coffee Roasters came to JMG with?
After purchasing the business, Erin worked for years with the inherited brand, logo, website, and product labels. Over time, though, she was not feeling in alignment with the company's current brand, delivery, and vision. As a female-owned small business owner, Erin was fortunate to leverage a new program: Rural Business Development Grant through the Northern Community Investment Corporation from USDA Rural Development. This program offered grant funds for the development of a new brand and e-commerce website that would accelerate the online product and subscription sales offered by this growing coffee roasting company. After receiving the grant, Erin came to JMG with the challenge of creating a plan of development that would provide these primary assets within a fixed budget and specific timeline.
Our approach
Eager to work closely with Erin, JMG created a plan for the key assets we needed to develop to ensure KCR’s success in their goals. These proposed assets included a complete brand package of design assets and a multi-functioning e-commerce site that can be scaled as the products and services continue to grow. JMG then contoured a program to work around the guidelines, budget, and various other restrictions often seen within grants. The creative solution was to build and test an e-commerce website with a small selection of products while also creating training videos and Standard Operating Procedures for solopreneur Erin to move forward to launch. This allowed Erin the opportunity to complete the website herself with support from JMG to prepare for launch, keep her investment in line with her budget, and also give her the training support needed to grow and scale with future products.
JMG’s direct impact on Kingdom Coffee Roasters?
This program allowed for a new subscription service offering to be launched and automated, creating an option for a new recurring revenue stream to be built. However, JMG believes that impact is better shown through the thoughts of our customers, which is why we added a few of the notes we received from Erin during our program.
In regard to brand images… “I'm blown away by this! At first glance there is nothing I don't love! Loving the detail and potential of the mugs, and the additional use of the blue! How it softens it a bit. I love it.”
In regard to our logo design… “Okay, this one was tough. I love these! Great, great work capturing our vision. And thank you, Jodie, for hopping on the phone with me to talk through a few things.”
In regard to our vision and mission statements and founder's story… “I’m at the bus stop reading this with tears in my eyes! I just wanted to let you know. Thanks for capturing this story!!”
